I just ordered a new top and the doors did not fit. I was told I had a CJ5 but the top did not fit the body. It curves at the doors and then has flat fenders. I did not put on the body but it was susposed to be the right one. Is it a CJ3 anyone know?

It has a 225 V6 in it. I was told it was a CJ5 body with flat fenders. I guess I was lied to.

Could be, but the flat fenders don't just bolt on in place of the "biscuit" fenders. Lots of flat fenders have been converted to V6s - the V6 fits the engine compartment very well.

Having a flat fender Jeep isn't necessarly a bad thing ...

Hard to tell from here without either some better description or ... pics.

Two ways you can pretty much tell what you have. The flatfender tub angles in near the middle of the door opening, and the CJ5 tub has a step (recess or lip) at the top of the tub along the side. Flatfender tub is just square.

my tub angles at the middle of the door and then has a step on the sidewhere it connects to the flat fender. so is this a cj3b body then?

It' a flatfender tub you have, without pics it will be hard to say exactly which you have. How tall is your hood? Measuring the height of it would tell if it's a 3B. The step I referred to on the CJ5 tub is at the top of the body, along the edge all the way along the side. It's L shaped, side goes up, in about an inch, then up again for an inch or so, then forms the top of the tub.

The very easiest way for the uninitiated to tell what jeep he has is as follows:

    count the hood hinges
if it is one long hinge it is a flatfender - not a cj5
if there are two hinges it is a cj5

to determine whether it is a cj 5 or cj6, measure the wheelbase.
    ~ 80 inches is a cj5, ~100 inches is a cj6

To determine what type of flatfender jeep you have, measure the distance from the top part of the fender to the top of the hood.
    ~10 inches is a cj3B
    ~ 5-6 inches is a cj2a or cj3a.
