    Hello,
I always felt the shifter was a bit tall but after putting in an overdrive my T-90 shifter gets tangled up in second gear. What is recommended in your opinion, bend it in place with a torch or remove it to bend it in a vice? How is it removed if that’s the best way. Thanks in advance for your help.

Considering you just installed on OD, IIWM I would begin with untangling that shifter, possibly spacing it away from the trans a bit(?)
Pictures of your dilemma would help.
The T-90 shifter is a complete mechanism, the cane cannot be removed by itself until the assembly is taken off the trans; 6 bolts hold it on to the case.

Without pic of course, I will just suggest you make any adjustments to your OD shifter to best match clearance with the stock T-90 shifter first.
If you change the t-90 shifter you will have to get a new feel all over again for your gear positions. JMO.

I suggest you post a picture or 2 of your setup. I've never felt that the T-90 shifter is too tall, plus I agree about adjusting the OD shifter.

x2, The t-90 and OD shifter on my 3B was just about the same height with about 1 or 2 inches between them. I often shifted both shift levers at the same time with one hand when split shifting. For example when shifting from second/ OD to third direct in a split shift.

It does look like your "in-out" 4 wheel drive shifter has an unusual bend to the left. the ones I have seen were much closer to the lo-hi shifter.
Also I can say it looks maybe like you have an unusually long T-90 shifter compared to the ones I have had. When I installed my OD ( a Warn unit) in the 3B back in 1972 the OD and T-90 factory shifter knobs were within about 1/2 inch of being the same length and about 1 inch apart when in second gear and OD and when in third gear and Direct drive. My Warn OD might have had a shifter that had been longer or a different bend than yours, cannot say for sure.
If you can source a T-90 shift cap and shift lever somewhere local and borrow it, you might just try just changing it out temporally to see where the shift levers are compared to yours. It is possible someone has changed or modified your current shift lever. Also might find some other factory trans case shift levers to see if you can change them to create more room for you to modify your OD lever if you need to. it's very hard to help by looking at photos. Good luck.

That t case shifter has some interesting side bends, never seen that. And your T90 cane does look really tall! Do your knuckles hit the dash in 2nd or reverse?
Know anyone close by with older stock Jeeps? Even a Wagon or a Truck would be worth looking at.
Anyone care to post a picture of their shifters?

When I switched my T-14/single stick D18 to T-18, OD, Dual Stick in my '71, I needed to bend every single lever a little bit to get them all to clear each other. The T-18 lever needed heat to bend, but the rest bent easily by putting a long piece of pipe over them. Just bend things until they are clear and are comfortable to use from the driver's seat.

I suspect your transfercase shift lever is from a Willys Wagon with that left bend. Years back, I cut my O/D lever about 3” shorter to work better with a bench seat.
Either way, heating your levers cherry red with an oxy/acetylene torch will allow you to bend them any way you want.

Mine is similar to Doug's the o/d and 4wd will rattle when the od shift bracket bolts get loose but overall they are side by side from 2 o/d to 3rd direct and I shift them together if needed.
