Dauntless Distributor Hold-down Clamp - How The He** ...?

My Dauntless with power steering and a fuel line in the way I used a swivel socket and 2or 3 long socket extensions.

Then I tried a crowfoot wrench. Was the easiest way I found.

I have the same type and orientation as BeachBum. I use a 1/4 drive rachet with a 1/4 drive 9/16 socket. Fits perfect on mine and I'm able to rachet it (not crazy tight). I don't have a washer on mine. Probably not necessary because the spring action of clamp will act a lock washer so no need to crank it down.

 

same here, I hate having tools that are specialized for specific tasks, but a distributor wrench is a great thing to have

That's a great idea....it is a bitch to use the orig set up.
