I had a wire loose from the plug.

I'ld have to have to move the key and forever punch the fuel guage when reaching to start it.

I've been stabbing this key for 45 years so it's second nature now.

Another day of seemingly little progress but it took an hour to free this, it got hung up a little last September...

Those factory drawbars don't do much for your departure angle.

That's why I ended up making this reverse mount receiver hitch for the '69 even though I have a factory drawbar kicking around:

With the hitch out, it doesn't really affect departure angle at all.

Under seat tank. Definitely won't work with a rear tank.

I didn't have to change anything with liinkage. I did have to drill new holes for the power booster mount.

I did something similar to what Fireball did and I have a rear tank. I'd be comfortable pulling a Bantam trailer/light trailer. Nothing more.

Mine sticks out a little farther and may a slight hinderance with the departure angle but not severe.

So I have this old Commando that was literally a barn find...needs a million things done to it. So this afternoon I removed and cleaned the hood emblems. Priorities, right?

    Mission Creep
    "noun
a gradual shift in objectives during the course of a military campaign, often resulting in an unplanned long-term commitment."

I started out today just doing some refinishing on the Jeep's exterior paint. This quickly morphed into deciding I'm going to repaint the inside of the tub the proper color it's supposed to be. Interior removed...again.

I went ahead and welded up some cracks in the floor pan around where the passenger seat mounts. I also removed all the seat belts, they need replaced, obvious UV damage and fraying.

Folded the windshield to replace the cowl seal and found EVEN MORE dirt dauber nests. I'm pretty sure this thing is carrying its payload in dirt dauber nests. I also found 2 random scalpels......okie dokie.

On the plus side, I found no rust on the cowling and small bits on the windshield frame on the side exterior of the Jeep. So no big deal there.

Tonight after it cools off I'll go back out and do the driver's side as far as cleaning up the paint as best I can and prep the inside of the tub to be painted tomorrow morning first thing.

Side note. The YJ looks pretty good with the windshield folded down.

I wonder what the muddobbers plans were for the scalpels?

    I'm attempting the impossible...
Cleaned my transfercase oil pan up at work today. Sanded the sealing surface flat on the belt sander and tweaked it a little so hoping it will have a nice flat surface to seal on the gasket. Get that on tonight and fill it back up tomorrow.

I have one that doesn't leak, but the other three do. :D

What I did to my Jeep today was I jacked it up to remove the left front hub, which has a sheared off bolt in it. Heading to WV tomorrow so will be next week before I can replace it.

I love my new Hi Lift Jack !

Well, not leaking from my oil pan at least:whistle:. Main seal or trans input is dumping oil out too.

Put my front right hub back on today too.
