I know this has been covered before but I can't seem to find it using the search function. I'm getting ready to install the T15 transmission back into my jeep frame this weekend and just wanted to doublecheck. When torqueing the final output shaft nut, you can put the trans in 3rd and reverse gear and then torque to 250 ft/Lbs. This is the big nut between the trans output shaft and transfer case. Did I remember that correctly?
That's probably the highest torque number on the entire jeep, just want to make sure I don't damage anything. If there's a better method let me know, thanks.

Per the 74 TSM, for the T-15, the nut torque is 130-170 ft. lb.
Would be a good idea to replace the self locking nut with a new one.

You're right! My error. It is 130-170. That's what I get for relying on my old memory.
I tried to use the new nut that came with the rebuild kit but that dude was VERY hard to thread on. Something didn't feel right at all so I used the old one with a drop of red on it. The nut is captive anyway once the transfer case is installed so hopefully it will hold. Thanks.
