    Is under seat tool box for a M38A1 the same as a tool box for a CJ2 or CJ3.

    I dunno for sure, but the tubs are very different. M38A1 is brother to the CJ5.

    I'd guess they are at least very similar, if not identical. They all use the same size lid.

    I don't know except the latch is more heavy duty on the M38A1.

    I did see NOS for $35 on ebay though

    The actual toolbox is different between a flat fender and CJ5/M38A1. The lid is the same for all jeep models.

    Got a new generic replacement toolbox from Kaiser Willys years ago.
    Similar, but needed some modification to make it fit. Not nearly as beefy as the original. Opted to get a take out from a ECJ5 member. Worked much better.
