I just picked up a set of 5 rims. I was told that at least 3 came off a DJ. They are 15x6 with 5x5.5 bolt pattern

Any ideas when and who manufactured these? and when / on what we’re 15x6 stock?

They look like they will they fit my ‘59 CJ5 with stock 9” drums.

The stamping reads “15x6”. Here’s some pics with a tape measure.

The inside ring where the lug nut holes are look like Jeep wheels. A 6" wheel is not listed in my parts books. Must be later?...

    Someone will know...

Thanks. Hopefully someone can solve this mystery. No matter what, as long as they fit, they will look more stock that the modern 15x8 black wagons that were on the jeep when I bought it. At $200 for all 5 I couldn’t pass it up.

The take-offs from my '75 are 15x6. From memory, looks right for that era. Back side should be gray e-coat, same as the tire mounting surface.

I think timgr is correct. The mounting surface and backside are both gray.

Planning on putting a set of SuperTraxion 7.00x15 or L78’s on them?

Thanks for the welcome to the site. I have been a member on the 3a page for awhile. This is my first post here. Lots of great guys with tons of knowledge as usual!

These look like OEM wheels from about '69 or '70-up. They'll fit your '59 just fine.

I have a pair of wheels that appear identical to yours, (right down to the same rusty white paint look, and the 3 hubcap bumps). However, they are
15" X 5 1/2". (correct inside rim dimension) I am curious what the backspace is on your wheels? (you know, measuring with a straight edge across the inside rim edge to the actual wheel surface that contacts the brake drum surface.) Both my wheels have a 3 3/4" back space. Thanks

Sorry for the late reply. Just got home from work. I measured the rims and backspacing is 3 3/4”. IIRC that is standard for all Willys vehicles. Someone here will correct me if I’m wrong.

Thanks, ... my jeep came with 4 different 15" wheels. As I've slowly started paying attention to wheels, my only conclusion is that there a LOT of different wheels on these old jeeps ! In my quest to get a matching set, I've run across odd lots of 15" and 16" wheels of various widths and styles (most have a 3 3/4" backspace), and have accumulated over 20 (if they're in the $25 or less range, I buy em :) Some have the tiny 'weep hole' alongside a lughole (military?) and many do not. I have a nice set of 15", and 3 matching 16" x 4 1/2" with 'weep holes' and they have a backspace of 3 1/4", .... I'm hoping to find a 4th, with the idea that these would accommodate nice tall NDT 7.00 x 16" military tires, assuming the less backspace provides more 'room' for the sharp turn. However, I admit the geometry confuses me a bit, but I've become sorta fascinated with it all. (Oldtime knows a lot) I've justified buying the extras so as to maybe do some horse trading someday. And of course, I'm hoping for any feedback to learn more.

New member here-just acquired a 58 CJ5 - what would be the correct rims for mine? There are two on it like I’ve not seen before.
