It went in fine. I thought I had it tight enough then it leaked. When I tightened it again it stripped.
I was able to use an older one. Going to order more.

Is there a brand other than crown that I can try?

Did you use a flare nut wrench? An open-end wrench will distort the nut and make it leak. You can also crack the flare in the end of the tubing by over-tightening. In these cases, the joint will not seal until you replace the nut and tubing. I have never been able to tighten these nuts enough to strip them, but I always use a flare nut wrench. Kinda think you'd need to be Charles Atlas to do so. I have used a cheater on a flare nut wrench to break them loose, but never for tightening. The quality of the flare on the tubing matters too.

In the Jeep world, there's no market for competing brands of minor parts like this. Unllikely any NOS is around any more. You could try Inline Tube or maybe Speedway and find a work-alike part under another brand. You'd need to describe it by its characterisitics rather than its Jeep PN.

It's a Crown part. Call the Crown warehouse and describe your problem. Maybe they can help you.

Do the threads on the nut go all the way to the tip of the fitting? Some don’t, and they don’t grab enough threads inside the female fitting.
