Dunno about an AC pump but I ordered a pump from quadratec for my 66, NAPA carries a fuel pump that should be for your year JEEP....that was the first one I got before discovering that there is a pump for specific 65-66 years with the 225 V6

Last time I checked, AC discontinued a lot of their older mechanical fuel pumps including the one's for the 225. I do know the numbers though in case you come across a place that still has one on the shelf. The part number for the pump with the return line port is #40515 and the pump without the return line port is #40001.

Thanks for the info. Ours doesnt have the return line on the fuel pump but originaly it did because the return line is there and plugged. I noticed that jeepdoc has the pumps for around $21 and wondered is there any advantage in hooking the return line back up?

If I recall correctly I got mine at Auto Zone. I will check my receipts tonight.

The return line helps prevent vapor lock. By letting the excess fuel return to the tank, there is a larger flow of fuel in the lines. This keeps the fuel in the lines cooler.

I don't think there's any advantage other than that.

Unless you have a big stupid 4 barrel carb like my Jeep and disconnecting the return line requires your Jeep to burn all the fuel being dumped into it or die. I disconnected mine once and it ran so rich I could hardly keep it running. I would hook it up for sure.

    Re: 70 CJ5 225 V6 AC Fuel Pump #$#^$^##$&

Well S... Our CJ ran great but had a leaking fuel pump (w/o return hose type) so we ordered a new fuel pump (with return hose),put in all new rubber hoses including the return hose that wasnt being used before and now it runs worse. There seems to be some hesitation on acceleration and after a while it just cuts off. After sitting a few minutes it will restart but cuts off soon after. It acts like vapor lock or something. Need help or we gonna sell her!!!!!!
