Made up a harness for the tail lights. My original harness was just wrapped in black tape. Word of advice, before going crazy trying to figure out why 1 light doesn't work take off the lens, you may find out it was shipped without a bulb :banghead:

I’ve done a few harnesses ..... learned quick to leave a little more wire where it hooks to switches and lights for easier replacement.

I got the wiring done except for the wipers. Still fussing with taping and routing some wire but to my amazement everything works as it should, even the horn. It's a bit concerning to me tho that the only fuse is on the flasher. I can be driving it but I still can't find the title to register it

Stop looking for the title, and do something else. You will find the title then.

Got the wipers wired up today. One works but makes a grinding noise the other doesn't work at all but gets power so I guess I'll be looking for 2 or rebuilding these

So today was going to be a fun easy day, mounted my grab bar

    My other step

    Door channels

My cute little rubber plug for throttle cable hole

Then I decided to get the steering right. I dropped the drag link got the wheels straight and needed to take off the Pittman arm to move it. Needed a puller so I figured I'll just take the column out.....well ...... after removing the master cyl. Breaking the break light switch and horn wire I found out I would have to remove engine, body or exhaust to get it out..? Not happening.... after a bunch of hrs I got the Pittman arm facing into the engine compartment to get a puller on it........wasnt a fun afternoon

I did a title check with the National Motor Vehicle Title Information System and it does not show the vehicle titled in any state. I used 8305A213430. If that's not correct let me know and I'll try again. NMVTIS checks all states databases for a title record.

An early photo in your thread shows a NJ plate and a M38A1 body. Maybe registered with a different VIN?

You might check Google for a title service in your area. Sometimes they can assist you in wading through the process to obtain title.

If the previous owner is deceased the JEEP might be part of that estate. I don't know how estates are handled in your state but having the vehicle awarded to you by the court could allow you to apply for title.

You may have already thought of these options so . Just trying to think through the process.

Send it to me no title needed in Maine. Jk that’s a bummer.
