Ok, so today I charged the battery, cleaned up the carb., and got it runninig. I found first gear (three on the tree, still trying to get used to it), and continued with a drive around the block, after finding second, and my second lap around the block, I found that I'm unable to get it out of gear, Ive looked through the manuals, and performed a search on here! I have noticed the following thing though, I think that my clutch is going because of the fact that I have to push the pedal 3/4 the way down in order to shift. Thanx in advance.

my t90 recently got stuck in 2nd...

seems that the nut that holds the intermediat gear on in the t-case spun loose and was causing alittle slop in the tanny.

it then in turn messed up one of the syncronizer plates on the clutch hub.

and wouldn't allow me to shift

had to drive home like 15 blocks in 2nd

and my clutch was going too...

bad day, but I hope maybe it gives you a little help..

Noticed you said you had 3 on the tree. Have you wiggled on your linkage underneath the jeep or where it comes throught the firewall. Many many many moons ago (40 years), we had a chevy pickup with 3 on the tree, and if we were too agressive on shifting, the linkage would somehow bind and we could get under the hood and wiggle it loose. Just a thought.

I used to have problems with my '61 rambler and various old trucks binding. With three on the tree, eventually the two linkage arms wear where they rub together. Usually you can reach underneath and wiggle them to free them up. When it gets to where it happens too often, remove the the rods and weld them up where they've worn. grind them back smooth and round and you're good for a bunch more years.
    Good Luck,
    Megan
