Ok, more pics. After fixing the heep so I could drive it home and after fixing my truck I finaly got to relax a little and get something done. Went and painted the console and mounted the radio in it. Went and made a bracket on the inside that the stud on the back of the radio bolts to. Its nice and solid now. Still don't know if it will play cds ok or not. I am waiting to wire it the same time I do the dash. I am also still in need of plywood so I can start the padded arm rest.

Kevo...that's absolutely awesome. I'm jealous. You are to be commended. Put some straps on the sides to hold the lap belts and you've beaten Tuffy at their own game.

Another suggestion is both Pioneer and Kenwood make Digital receivers they do not have a CD player but will accept a USB drive or input from an AUX jack. They also have built in Bluetooth and sell for less then $100. Kenwood has a couple that are MARINE rated. I'm planing a similar console for my CJ2A build made from a 40mm ammo can. It will hold one of the Pioneer Digital receivers as well as a Cobra 29 CB. I'm looking at a lid that slides back so I can uncover the radios while still having the "arm rest". I am going to wait until I have my CJ2A on the road before I get to deep into actual design mostly due to the 4 shift levers (30% Warn style OD is the fourth) I will have and the need to work with the flip up pass seat.
