Wheel Stud Length

    not sure if this has any influence, I am looking to run aftermarket aluminum rims at some point.
    do I need to change my wheel stud lengths? I am running narrow track dana 30 with disc's

    I ask because I rebuilt the axle and want to also put new studs on before I press them into the hub/disk.

    Don't know what disc brake setup you have. When I upgraded my Dana 30 to discs from shoes using the GM calipers I needed to use longer studs with my aluminum wheels. Look thorough this thread. Wheel stud length was discussed there.

    stock narrow track dana 30 with two bolt disc setup.
    hopefully that can give better answers.

    yours looks like a dana 27?

    You can also use extended thread lug nuts. I use them on my TJ with alloy wheels.

    Page 1 is Focker's Dana 27. On page 2 are the comments and pictures I added when upgrading my Dana 30.

    Dorman makes tons of different studs.. I'd pull one and then try to match it with a longer threaded one. I was going to install longer ones on my disc setup, but never found the correct one. FYI I am runnin aluminum wheels.
