Well, I finally got a day to work in the shop, and spent in working on "the Beast". At 4:30, I rolled her out of the shop, now modifed as the " SNOW BEAST". Tried her a couple times, moving snow around on the farm, and then made a fast trip down to the Black Forest Brew Pub for a Growler of my favorite Oat Stout. 55 mph on M-83 is a blast! Lots of throttle left too. She's too darn fast for me.

Photos show the finished product, soon to go to the road FOR SALE. When we get established in Florida, I'll get me another one, and get it running...

Whoops! Didn't get the photos to upload, let me try it again and see if I can get this to work.

File is too large, let me make some adjustments and I'll get them uploaded!

Thanks Dennis! Snowblade is a quick disconnect. Pull two pins and disconnect the winch, and it's gone. The rack that the blade hangs on is on two large pins (1" diameter) and four 1/2" bolts, and it's off too.

I'm really happy with the way it came out, and wish I could keep it, but have a " master plan" that means that it needs to find a new owner.

When we get settled in Florida, I'll find another one, and have it to play with.

For lifting the blade, it works great! Perhaps a little slower than electric over hydraulic lift, but a good solution for keeping the farm plowed out. And with the attachment of a snatch block, enough winch to lift the jeep clear of the ground!!!!

Actually, we are looking at opening a compact tractor dealership in Okeechobee.

We are currently waiting for the fellow who owns the property to get the business license that we need from the city fathers there. Once that's done, we'll be on the way down.

We were at the RV show in Pontiac, MI yesterday and put down money on a 30' 5th wheel to live in for a season or two while we get the new business on its feet.

I notice from your post, that you are in SW Florida. My daughter is a middle school teacher in Bonita Springs.

Very cool. Okeechobee is bout an hour or so away from me, you will probably go to the coast to get supplies every so often, or at least hit a mall maybe. Do keep in touch, we can help you out. If you moved a little closer to the west coast could join the local jeep club. we have a member that drives over from Moore Haven which is not far from Okeechobee. I say bring the jeep with you. Most jeeps down here are torn up into swamp buggies so at times they can be far and few between

    Dan,

The problem with that is...parking. For the first year or so, the Boss Lady and I will be living in a 30' 5th wheel trailer at a park in Okeechobee. Finding parking for her Bonneville and my pickup will be a hassle, but having a Jeep (with a SNOW BLADE) will be an additional problem. I could leave it at the store, but would rather sell it, and leave my son with a paid-off commercial mower to keep the four acres of grass around the farm cut. If I can sell the Jeep for $3200.00, I can pay off my (fairly) new John Deere Commercial mower.

So, the darn thing has to go! Best of all worlds is, we get a snowstorm this next week, and I park the Jeep at the end of the driveway, and someone local decides to buy it.

Don't misunderstand, I LIKE JEEPS, and can't wait to get another, but it just makes good sense economically to sell this one, and get something newer, after we get a house in Florida and have the new business well established.

Thanks! If to you get to Okeechobee, look for the guy selling the little red tractors, just north of downtown.

I went through Okeechobee ONCE! We stopped at what looked like a decent Mom&Pop "shack". Lots of cars in the lot and it was packed! Must be good!

We all had the $6.95 Fish & Chips --and, yes, it was good!

Being on the road all day, we finished our drinks quickly. The waitress comes by and says "Here, Lemmee get you folks some refills" Great service!!! However, when we got the bill, we were charged $1.75 per glass of Coke! $14 in drinks! Um Ms.? Charged for 8 drinks? The $1.75 does not includes refills? --"No Ma'am!"

Up North here, refills are pretty standard if you pay $1.75. I guess we had "tourist" written all over our faces!

We used her tip to pay for the Drinks :D

The WHY is that its an area where lots of folks live on large plots of land and need a compact tractor to keep things looking good. The other WHY is because Okeechobee is where I could find a place to LEASE some property that would not break the bank the first six months. The WHY is that it's a rural area and I can stand to live there for an extended period. The WHY includes the fact that property costs are reasonable, compaired to that strip of land between I-95 and the Swamp, where land is sold by the square foot.

All of these are positives, in my mind. Okeechobee is growing, has a brand new Walmart and a hospital, lots of tourist dollars, and plenty of places to live.

    Next Question???? ;)
