I'm in the process of making my rollcage with this company: www.bushmateoffroad.com. They are the people that made the bumpers for Go There Engineering and while GTE is no longer in business they still make and sell the bumpers themselves. They're still in the Quadratec website and should be in the next catalog as well. The company is looking into expanding their products and is looking into making CJ bumpers similar to the YJ/TJ ones on the page above but instead of the brushguard we're talking about doing a stubby style bumper with a stinger. The only one that I've seen that's similar is one Olympic makes.

What are the differences in front bumpers between the different CJ's? Most I see are for 76+ but I'm not sure of the specific differences in the model years.

The company is just down the road from me and the people there have been really helpful with the cage. We're using my '74 to start mocking up a bumper in the morning and I wanted to get y'alls input on the bumpers. Are there certain features that you like or don't like? The bumper will definately have the winch plate in the bumper like the others and more than likely will have a molded plastic cover that would cover the winch. Thanks guys :)

Looking at my 74, there's not room behind my bumper for a winch, looks like the steering box would be in the way. My winch is mounted above the bumper. I guess if you're going to fab your own, the new bumper could come up higher to incorporate the fairlead, especially if you have a body lift.

    1. keep it close to the frame for a better approch(sp) angle.
    2. make it so the bumper will allow the frame to flex
    3. receiver hitch in it.
