I doubt that would cause the overflow condition.

The YF typically leaks from the pump linkage when the float chamber floods. The linkage passes vertically through the carb from the top to the bottom, providing an open drainage route.

Forgot about that. Since the accelerator pump relies on vacuum to pull the diaphragm back, there is a port to the throttle body, and if there is a leak in the diaphragm, it will pull gas directly. Had the pleasure of seeing this issue, also. Regarding fuel coming down the link, regardless of that goofy rubber link seal, it's my belief that the only way this can happen is if the bowl level is too high. The Carb Shop requires a few days to assemble a kit, so keep that in mind if you order from there.

Okay, all the adjustments seem to have been correct and now the leak is gone. I suspect dirt was the culprit. With that in mind I think adding an in line fuel filter is a good idea. I got a basic in line from NAPA, but the question is best location. I know, just about anyplace will work fine, but I have the steel line that snakes under the water pump and beside the block and finally to the carb. Anybody have a set up they'd like to share that doesn't dangle about or rest on the engine?

Thanks again, you are the best!

As I said earlier, I like them in-line just before the pump, down by the frame rail inside of the left front wheel. This keeps crud out of the pump valves, and a servicable glass-body filter lets me check fuel flow.
