What is your oil pressure reading when running down the road at 40-60 MPH and do you have a stock oil pump or maybe a HV or HP pump?

Hey Walt...I think I kicked it... I went out and bought new ballast resitor, coil, points and condensor..the distro was a reman and came with a complete setup but.....and the coil was new also...
so anyway installed new items and when doing so...the black wire going from distro to the (-) of the coil had a brass crimp in/on it to keep the wire from pulling through the distro and its rubber retainer... the crimp might or might not have gone through the wire.. I removed the crimp...wire ohmed good..bent it shook it etc while on a meter no change in resistance..put everything back together...fired right up

3 test hops of 1 then 3 then 5 miles all was good...each return I put the light on the timing and it didn't move from the original setting.. I am stoked
    thanks for all the help!!!

LOL yep you aren't kidding...the ironic thing is... I purchased the CJ5 for it's simplicity..or so I thought...13 years of driving the 2A, never had a problem, other than minor stuff....

this one was fun to chase down...just wish I knew which component was the culprit...maybe the wire was grounding out against the inside of the disto?

    dunno...
