    ;)

Not meaning to be a pain...but still tough to say w/o pics. It's like describing used cars in ads...what does "good cond." mean to you?

As a buyer I'd also be concerned about how the TH400 was swapped in, how the rear driveline is done, what rear axle is in it (hopefully was swapped to match the centered output D20), how the fit and finish is on the body/top, etc. The level of prefessionalism in those areas and any other mods could greatly swing the value one way or the other.

I've been seeing them around here and northern CA in similar condition, mods for around $ 4500. Price can go up if it's very nice, big tires, and is drivable, electrical works, ect. maybe as high as $ 6-7k.
However, most are not 'professionally' done, and with rust spots, elect. issues, iffy paint, then they can be a s cheap as $ 2500.
    Only the market can say.....

Location also has an influence on price.
    Where are you?
Fiberglass top? Where did you get that or did you modify one?

No rust holes new fiberglass body new paint. I'm in Pennsylvania 50 miles north of Philly. The top and body are new from AJ's, I picked them up myself.

    Josh-

Throw a couple of pics up and it will help. I don't even want to guess without seeing some photos.

Jeep 'RULE OF THUMB'........ Your Jeep is always worth 1/3 of what you have invested into it.

Josh, since I'm from the same general area, I'd say $4500 with the new AJs top and tub. It will be difficult to get more than that. Problem could be finding someone who wants a CJ5 with an auto. Of course the type and quality of mods has bearing, as discussed in posts above.

If you can wait until July, bring it to York to the PA Jeeps show, sell it there. Approx. 5000 Jeep people in attendance for the weekend.
My Dad sold his '74 CJ5 with glass tub, glass front, 304 stock drivetrain for $4K at the show a few years ago. You don't even need to register to sell it there, many guys just park in the fairgrounds parking lot with a sign on the rig (park near the entrance/exit to maximize traffic)
See the club website for info on the show.

    Good luck !

I'd sure love to see a pic of that fiberglass top...I didn't even know you could still buy them new.

    Again...how much was it?

Yup, I know I've mentioned it with a link here recently to AJ's website.

Used to have one of their catalogs years ago. Looked like good stuff, but $$$$.

I checked AJ's website...they list it but don't show pics...I tried to email him to request one but it came back with an error message.

I know they're pricey, but I'm stupid and hopeful....

The Jeep top was around $2000. Thanks for the info on the Jeep show in York. I had no idea there was one there! So far I have a little over $5000 in parts and many, many hours of my time. The only thing I sent out was the radiator to get soldered.
