Yesterday I picked up a 74cj5 just to part out. Has the 304 drivetrain whitco roll bar and seats I want. Body has enough holes you could throw a cat thru it. Anyway it has a brand new radiator and gas tank. I'd like to put that tank in my m38a1 which has been running on a temp evinrude boat tank for the last 4 years ;)
The floors were fixed by PO so no hope of using a stock tank as he used flat plate (not a resto rig anyway)

The question-the cj5 tank has two small hoses running to a raw fuel check system and rollover venting (or so says the info I can find). Can I just loop the two together in this application with the fhead? I plan on using the vent hose/filler neck setup that's on it. So it will be vented for expansion and contraction. Am I missing something or should I be good doing this? Thanks in advance

Loop or just cap off what you don't want/need to use.
    No worries.

You'll need a vented cap if you plug the vapor recovery lines. The original cap is sealed. Otherwise, yep, no worries. I would keep the 3/4" diam vent line that goes back into the filler hose, for easy filling at the gas station.

If the vapor recovery parts are intact, they are worth something for owners where emissions checks are required. The check valve is usually quite brittle by now ... so take care if you want to save it.

Ok sounds good. I took the filler neck so I'll use the 3/4 line as well. There wasn't a cap on it-anyone have a napa or other link for a vented one?

The the vapor recovery parts appear to be in good shape. I'm saving everything I can off of it to offset the purchase price of the jeep. Body and frame were shot but there are a ton of good parts on it. If I can make my money back on everything else I'd like to save the 304 t15 and 20 for a future project.
