Newbie here please help me identify my stuff

The 231 was produced in both even-fire and odd-fire versions. All 225s are odd-fire. Look at the document I linked for you. Look for the casting numbers that will tell you what you have.

The frame rail is boxed @ the steering box and their is three bolts holding it to the plate. I will have someone turn it lock to lock and look for any flexing.

Rather than asking endless questions I have been using the search function to feed my head. It works much better than the search function over @ the forum where I'm a mod!

 

You will also need to figure out if you have an odd fire or an even fire engine before you change the distributor cap. They are very different on the inside. There are a number of posts on the difference between the caps. Look for a post with pictures. Don't trust the parts store to give you the correct cap.
