I need to rebuild the carb on my '67 F head soon. It is a YF 4002s. I've heard a lot of varying opinion about the best rebuild kits. I'v heard some say that a NOS kit is the way to go, but I'm worried about it holding up against today's ethanol fuel.
Here is kit I am looking at: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Jeep-Willys...Parts_Accessories&hash=item4605d8d7e9&vxp=mtr
Has anyone used this kit before? Experiences or suggestions?
    Thanks!

I had one of the guys at our local napa store rebuild a couple of yf's for me. One on my high hood and one on my tux. They run great. We took them to Glacier Park last summer and spent days putting around. No problems with anything! Had them rebuilt last July and run premium. He used kits over the counter. So far so good...

Looks like the kit I just installed yesterday.

Was okay, but did not have the check valve ball in it. Lots of other extra hardware you might not ever need, but nice to have.
The mounting gasket was kind of goofy, cut off-center - I had to install it in a certain orientation to make it work.

Just saw an "ethanol" accelerator pump on Ebay. I've never yet had a problem with my old ones - but then a lot of later stuff is crap.

I use them. PeteL is correct on the missing check ball. DO NOT LOSE the one you have and if yours still has the spring to hold it and the check weight in DON'T LOSE IT either. Those items are scarce as hens teeth. I have had to make my own spring on occasion. It's a PITA.

My kit had a new weight and retainer spring - although I had to tweak the spring to make it tight enough.

But once the lid is back on the carb you don't actually need a retainer.

Thanks guys, I ordered one. Hopefully I'll get a chance to work with it pretty soon.

I love that ebay spelling. But it makes it difficult to search if seller can't spell 'er.

Yes. But you can nail some bargains that other people may miss. That's how I got a great deal on a venting "windsheild."

all I know is I love my venting windshield. and apparently everyone else does too since that's one of the most questions I get on my 59 cj5. even today someone told me my windshield was badass.
