    Hello all,
I have a VIN# 364611 on my 70' CJ5. When did Jeep start using the AMC keys? Looking at the VIN thread, I think my CJ was built in March of 70'. My steering colum may have been changed out to a later model, as it is tilt. Any thoughts and info.? Thanks, Vance.

If it's tilt, it's been changed. Not an uncommon mod, in conjunction with a Saginaw steering swap.

That was my thought too, as I do have the 4 bolt Saginaw steering box. When did Jeep start putting the ignition switch in the steering column? ( lock cylinder) Did that start with AMC? My 60' had a starter button. Don't remember if my 64' did, as I changed the steering column out to a tilt.
