help identify this bumper and brake conversion now!

I picked up a parts cj 5 last night and really like the back bumper. The current owner didn't have a lot of knowledge on parts installed by other PO but it looks fairly new and didn't match the other backyard mods, so I'm not thinking it was home built. Unless he had a partner help him. So I'm hoping the gurus here can help. The Jeep came out of the Atlanta area.

To me it looks home built. I have never seen a bumper quite like that one commercially made. The width of the bumper and the smallish d ring mounts leads me in that direction.

Bolted up to frame, he must of outsourced help on the back bumper because the welding up front isn't nearly as good.

My first thought was homemade but the quality didn't match the rest of the homemade work. Although I'd never seen a production bumper like it before. Plus little things like where the tires would sling mud and debris are covered on the inside. Someone took their time doing it right. I will transfer it over to my rig.

Alrighty, I don't want to start a new thread on identifying parts so who here can help with a disc brake conversion. I'm guessing it is the stock Dana 30 front axle from a 74. Are there any numbers on the calipers that would help out? Pictures will be up briefly, I know they help.

I knew they came with drums and that's why I'm trying to ID whatever parts they used. I'm trying to sort out 40 years of "mods". Some of the work on it is downright dangerous looking for a street legal rig.

    Pics would help.

The easy way to do disk brakes on an open 30 is to use parts from a '77 or later CJ and swap from the knuckles out. But you can also build the disk brakes on the existing knuckles and spindles with the right parts. I don't have this info in my head - but you can probably find a lot about it in the search that I left for you.

If you start a new thread with a descriptive title, you might get more attention from those that know more detail about this topic. There's no reason nto to start another thread - this a perfectly appropriate topic for this forum. :)

Due to the lack of a good JY around here I bought a front disc conversion kit, on sale for like $500 bucks.. Has all the parts and pieces to swap to disc..

I reread my post about the conversion and it is as clear as muddy water, my apologies. I posted a new topic, the axle already has a disc conversion and I'm trying to figure out what calipers and disc are currently on it at this time. If I can figure it all out I will swap it to the current axle I have. The reason I'm going to swap just the parts and not the axle is this one is SOA and has an "interesting" weld job on some steering parts.
