Does anyone have a "simple" diagram for the wiring for the fuel gauge? I put in a new sensor but all the wiring was cut on the old one.

Hoping to get one that focuses on this, as I get confused on the full wiring diagrams. Hand drawn and advise is welcome

    Thanks

Does the back of the gauge have + - S ??? I think you need to run a wire from the ignition (accessory terminal) to the + terminal of the gauge. Another wire from the - terminal to a good ground & one from the S to the sender...I could be wrong.

Howard has the info. PLEASE read the part about burning up gauges if they are not grounded properly. You can do a search here on this topic.

    Read about blinky, thank you
    and read some threads.

My gauges are still original. That said I am assuming I do not need a resistor anywhere? Is that safe?

One of the guys has a really nice color-coded diagram for the V-6 Jeeps.

The fuel sending unit to the gauge should be the same whether you are using a V-6 or an I-4.

Thanks guys. If I wire it like this and it does not work, is the gauge fried?
Does the Temp have to work for the gas to work?
I have read nightmare stories about aftermarket units. Is there a recommended one?

Nope the temp is not required for the fuel gauge to work.
