Hey Guys....novice mechanic here. Just about have this T14a rebuilt. All I lack is putting the input shaft on the output shaft and postioning the main bearings in the gearbox. This is were I'm kinda stuck. Don't wanna make a move until I'm sure what I'm doing. This whole time I've been following the OEM manual and at this step it says to use a W-334 thrust yoke to protect the synchros. OK...I understand you don't wanna risk damaging those brass rings but I don't have these tools and I was just wondering about alternate means of installing these bearings. Anyone have some good ideas.

There have been 1000s of trans put together with out these tools because most have never saw them before. One thing you could do to make it easyer driveing on the bearings is to heat the bearing up a little to make its inside slip on easyer other wise just dont try to drive them on all at once.
