Dare I raise the specter of Ethanol again?

    Only issue ive run into is drivability with summer and winter blends. Trying to start jeep in winter with tank full of summer ethanol blend. We dont have ethanol in winter because it just doesnt like the cold.

    When we test gas for ethonal blend percentage we take a sample of gas and add an equal part of water and mix. After a bit it seperates out and you can calculate the percentage.
    One teaspoon may be all thats needed to get it to start seperating, but it wont pull all of the ethanol out at once.
    A 10 gallon tank of 10% gas would need a gallon of water to seperate all the ethanol. Pretty sure its a 50/50 mix with the water and ethanol...

    If you wanted to de-ethanol your gas just add water;)

    I dont recommend it though...

    There are "official" ethanol test containers, they are small and have been marked with the different percentages. The cheap ones are made by lawn mower folks. I'd post a link but don't remember where I got mine, it was $8. We have a bunch of stations around here that advertise ethanol free and I wanted a way to quietly test it to see if they were telling the truth or not. They were.

    I'll look some tomorrow and post links when I find.
