    Hello all,
I'm at that point where I will be cranking the engine for the first time since
I've taken everything apart. I believe I at TDC one my first cylinder, however, in this position, the contacts ony points are closed, touching each other, is this correct. I could be confusing myself, but I thought I read somewhere that at TDC, the contacts on the points should be apart.

    Thank you
    RJ

You rotate the distributor till the points open. Did you get your service manual yet? It makes it a lot clearer on how to do it right.

I can't take credit. I was told about this on the forum as well.

Prior to '71, I believe there was no year-to-year update for the CJ series. In the WIllys and Kaiser years, Jeep models did not change much from year to year. There may be annual supplements, but if you have that, it assumes that you have the earlier manual that it appends. So I think you'll only find a reprint that is inclusive of your '67 but not specifically for that year.

That said, the manuals sold by Turner's and the rest of the Jeep parts retailers are the actual factory manuals. Just be sure you get the one that covers your year.
