    radiator/fan alignment?

I remember on my YJ I dropped the radiator assembly and a buddy of mine just dropped his shroud..
    Any thoughts on the 2..

Just me but stay way from anything over a 1in polyurethane body lift. To me there more trouble then worth, and yes you would/ should have to move some of your mounts and linkage.

Well the factory mount is 5/8"?
im running 1 1/4" rubber for body clearance reasons..

it's just enough to misalign the fan and shroud....

I've seen people cut the bottom of the shroud. It's an option but maybe a little butchified.

Same story here. since it mounts to the radiator it moves with your body lift.

I dropped my radiator down, but that may be easier on an Early. I'm not that familiar with the Intermediate system. That said, a body lift is a great way to gain clearance without a big change in center of gravity. Much better than a suspension lift IMHO.

the mechanical fan robs hp. yes i know it's not a lot but it still does and we need all we can get on these little engines. i put an electric from a GM car and didn't look back. it works awesome.

I have a freshly built 360... I dont think the HP loss will be a substantial issue...

Ya, but you have to listen to them run and don't think that the effort of the alternator to provide the juice to run it isn't costing some horsepower too.

Yes for sure, but it doesnt have any other incident than that. The height of a mechanical one is base on the engine position. I did put a electric one for these reason:

-Better cooling at low rpm, mechanical fan effiency depend on engine RPM, with my t18 i run between 1200-2000 tr/min on trail
-With my body lift and engine torque movement i had a hard time for the blade to not hit the bottom cooling hoze.
-i had a water pump bearing who get worn and made my mechanical fan destroy the radiator, end up my trail and cost me 600$ for towing, pump and radiator.
    - I can turn off the fan while crossing river, with mechanical hiting water can debalance it and cause faillure to cooling system, also spread water all over angine and electrical thing inside the hood.

With body lift, you need to lower the rad from is oem position, so the bottom of it wont get any air because is out of the grill.

as i stated, i did it for the convenience. is it noisier than stock? not really in my old cj. as for power, i can't imagine any more hp being needed for an electric fan than a shaft mounted fan and fan clutch.
