Overdrive

    I am looking at a1968 CJ5 that is in great shape. It is a v6 and has a PTO winch. Will the winch be a problem if I want to put overdrive in her?

    No, just more $$$. There's an adapter available that mounts the PTO to the back of the OD. The winch driveshaft will have to be changed for a longer one & a new hole cut for the PTO shifter.

    Could you point me to this that you speak of or tell what configuration this works on, ie, D18 transfer case to Koenig PTO winch to which overdrive?

    You will also have to make a hole for the shifter as it is now further back. I have a 60/40 seat so also had to modify the handle.

    Thanks for posting up the pictures. When I get to it, this is what I'm going to do. That will be neat, five levers to pull :)
