Since I had my axle out for a locker install, I decided to take the plunge and do a u-bolt flip. I ordered a set of square u-bolts from general spring out of KC, Mo. I fabbed up the top saddles and am working on the bottom saddle./shock mounts now.

If all goes well, I should be installing the axle Saturday.

I am machining something along the lines of the Dynatrac bottom saddles with a boss for a shoulder bolt to mount the shocks.

Thanks for posting. I'd like to see more pictures as you get farther with the project.

I like the way you did you saddles better than the round bars shown on some of the others.

Any plans to do the front? somehow getting around the one odd spot next to the diff.

Bottom saddles ready for test fit:

Once I verify fit, I'll drill and tap the shock mount holes and clean them up a bit. Then off to powder.

My u bolts have been delayed by adverse weather . Looks like another week with no rear axle under the Jeep...

Looks like there is a taper on these, in the pic above. Maybe just the camera angle?
