shock suggestions?

I had a local company make a set of custom springs made for my 46, they do ride noticeably softer than the superlift springs that were on there before. The spring shop suggested a good set of gas shocks, or better yet custom valved shocks to maximize the comfort of the springs. I'm currently still running my old superlift shocks with the new springs.

As far as over the counter shocks, what would be worth looking at for a stock-ish weight flat fender that is mostly driven on the street with the factory 80 inch wheel base? I do have radial tires which really helped soak up alot of the small bumps, and suspension seats which definitely helped overall. Shocks are the last thing I'm going to upgrade for comfort. I do plan on taking my jeep on some long trips, and I do drive it every day to work and back, so comfort is what I'm after :)

I don't mind spending good money on the shocks if they will be noticeably better than what I have now, since I do drive it alot. I'm going to get a quote from a local shock company to make some custom valved shocks. If good over the counter shocks aren't a whole lot cheaper than the custom valved shocks, then I'll probably just go with the custom shocks.

Any suggestions or good experiences with any particular shocks?

I run a 10 year old set of Rancho 9000's
Having the ability to easily adjust them is really nice.

x3 on the Rancho 9000's. On the street I usually run them right in the middle setting at 5. The handling and body roll is very noticeable at the softest 1 or 2 settings, meaning to say that the valving is a pretty dramatic difference.

Sounds like the Rancho shocks are a winner than! I've been kind of thinking about trying the 9000s, glad to hear other folks like them. I'll give them a try, thanks fellas :)

I got the shocks now, the rears that Rancho suggested were to long, so I'm going to exchange them. But I got them on the front, and it handles bumps quite noticably better! I have it on the softest setting. Once the rears are on there, then I'll play around with the different settings for a few days, then just leave them put unless I load up the jeep with something heavy.
