will cj6 radiator fit in my 55 cj5

Hey so i Was wondering If a radiator out of a cj6 will fit in a 55 cj 5 abd also are the grills the same

 

What year are the Jeeps, what grills do they have now (assuming have been changed, what engines came stock, what engine are you using?

Easiest would be to get a tape measure and find out, or you could do everything above I suppose.

The part that the radiator attaches to (I forgot the term) changed in width on the V6 jeeps, and possibly between the F4 and V6 (I cannot recall for certain.)

 

You understand that the CJ-5 and CJ-6 are the same for the same year, except for the chassis length? So the important question is, what year is the CJ-6? IIRC the first year for the CJ-6 was '56 or '57, so if it's from that era, it should fit. Also, it needs also to be a 4-cylinder CJ-6.

IIRC the last years of the 4-cylinder (ie 1970-71) used a different grille design, so those years probably will not work.

 

You might want to look at a 64-66 ford mustang radiator. The i6 and v8 have different lower out lets.

 

Ok thanks and also I did know that the cj s are all the same exsept the length and also the engine in my cj 5 is the f134 so ill measur and see
