fj starter on f134 ?

Ok so i hooked up a fj starter with a little modifcation also made a braket for gm altornator but how do i wire these to gether for a bench test

 

You don't. The alt should be taken to a parts store that can test the alt. As for the starter, does it have the solenoid attached to the starter or is the solenoid separate?

 

the starter has the solenoid and the alternator works I had it tested I have ignition switch that I would like to hook up for a bench test so how do I go about wiring it

 

If you have the jeep starter then the solenoid has two large studs and one small one. One large stud has a connection to the starter. The other large stud will connect to the positive terminal on the battery. The battery negative cable will connect to the starter housing (or engine block if the starter is mounted on the engine) and the small stud on the solenoid will connect to the "S" terminal on the ignition switch with a 10 gauge wire. A jumper wire can be used to test the starter by holding a wire on the positive battery cable and touch the other end to the small stud on the solenoid.

 

Just like Walt says. The jumper wire represents the "switch" circuit when the key is on crank position.

Make sure the starter is tied down when you bench test it it!

 

ok I will and the whole engine is bolted to the frame so im good on that also I disconnected the drive shafts so I don't a have a run away frame thanks for the help and advice

 

You have this all in the frame and want to run it?

The wiring on the alternator will depend on if it has an internal regulator or has one on the firewall.
