Finally its going back together after my episode with the q-tip that fell down the bolt hole into the water jacket. Had to pull the water pump to get to it.. In regards to the rocker arm re-installation. The head was cleaned up but was not altered, the lifters are hydraulic, pushrods and rocker arms were labeled and are going back in the same place, the engine has not been turned over. Knowing this do I just reinstall the rocker arms and torque them down? There doesn't seem to be any where to adjust anything? Help?

If I'm not mistaken their are no adjustments on this setup. Just be sure to put rocker arms in correct positions.

still confused. do I need to torque each rocker arm down when both valves are in the closed position for each cylinder or do I torque the arms down regardless of the position of the cam and let the action compress the valve if necessary. on my 258 there is a bridge between the 2 bolts that hold the rocker arms for each cylinder, if that makes a difference

There is a procedure in the TSM. Do you have and have you read that section in the TSM? It describes tightening the bridged rockers.

You can trust the instructions in the TSM. If there are special procedures to follow, they will be described there.

All Ive ever done is turn the motor over so the rocker arm Im torquing does not have any load on it and torque it down to what it calls for.. thats it.
