Hey everyone. After about three years of my jeep sitting in the yard with 4 blown tires I've decided to finally get it back running. I was wheeling it one night and aired down a bit too much after probably too many beers, on top of which the tires were old and dry rotted. All 4 tires blew and I had to have it towed back to the road. In doing so the tires ripped apart and tore up the fenders, ripped a brake line out and bent a shock. I was going to sell it but after asking here you guys convinced me to keep it.

So here I am now. I bought some 33 x12.5s and have decided to tear it all the way down. My plans are to make a new frame and stretch it a few inches to make a little more room for the tires and make a little more legroom. I'm going try to keep it on a budget. I have it ready to pull the tub and keep finding more things I want to fix. Wish me luck fellas!

It's a little more tore down now, I have to take some more pics.

    Thanks for looking, Jason.

That's a nice looking little Jeep. Not much rust , compared to stuff out on the East coast. Very fixable. Good luck.

What size lift if any are you running? i love the way it sits, doesn't look freakishly big for an old jeep.

I'm going to try and stay pretty low. I'm planning on extending the shackles and keeping it S.U.A. I may have to cut on the fenders a bit just to clear the tires. I'm considering a front shackle reversal while I'm at it.

for inspiration you might want to check out "posi's do-over" thread. I believe he fit 35's without making it look silly, and I really appreciate that he didnt comp cut the rear fenderwells to get it there.

I definitely don't want to comp cut it. I want it to still look like a CJ5. I think I checked that thread out, I'll have to look at it again.

And to Rusty, I guess you're right. What I think of as bad, you east coast guys probably laugh at. You have to cut me some slack though. I was born, raised and still live in so. cal.
