Fuel pump spilling oil

Hi guy's been working on finding a oil leak on my amc 360. It come from the fuel pump, tiny hole, oil get out like a spray and the faster engine is going the more oil that goes out the pump.

What is the problem, and more important what is the solution?

 

Time to buy a new pump.

Pull the dip stick and make sure fuel is not getting into the oil as well.

 

X2-----only other cause I can think of is if the pump is loose on the block.

Most likely though, the diaphragm is toast.

 

just finish taking out the pump, it was tight on the block, i was able to cleary see htat the oil was coming from the pump. I'll order a new one from napa tomorow

 

I'll double check to make sure about gaz in oil, i just flush the oil 2 weeks ago,hope i don't need to flush again chainsawguy

 

Hold a lighter to the dipstick, if it catches gas is in your oil

 

I wont take chance, i'll flush it anyway

 

If the level is too high it will be from the gas.

 

Ok got the new pump today, little different than the one i had before

Différence seem to be the diaphram diameter but i cannot tell more.

 

Are you worried by this? They are the same. Just a different supplier.

 

With all the problem i'm having, i just want to make sure i got the right part.

Yeah, as long as they are the same distance and position between the mounting flange and the cam surface at the tip of the arm.

 

My fuel pump did the same thing. Didn't realize it was the pump at first.. Replaced it and end of problem.. FWIW: I used to carry a spare fuel pump with me. I have since switched to an electric one..

 

Pump changed on friday, seem to have solve the problem....thank's to you all guy's
