Proportioning Valve

    I'm working on my brakes, went with the Wilwood dual, remote reservoir set up, with the MC under the floor board and can not find a good place for my proportioning valve. The real estate is limited under there and too close to the exhaust header.

    My question is, does the Proportioning Valve need to be located under the MC? Does anyone have images or suggestions on a location for this valve?

    If you're just using drum brakes, it is my understanding that you don't need a valve. Others my disagree.

    That's my issue, drum rear and disc up front, what I have read you need one and the reason for the rebuild on the brakes.... for the second time. Going to install Dana 44 front and rear but want to complete the MC before hand.

    ;)Proportioning valve yes ..............can go anywhere you can fit it............some valves can be bought that already have the proper residual valves build in 10 lbs drums 2 lbs disc's or they need to go in line......... Not familiar with the Wilwood Dual cylinder but normally the Disc side of the system requires more fluid volume hence a larger chamber for fluid is needed as compared to the drum side . The check valves in the system will also aid you in bleeding the brakes since your Master will be lower than the bleeds at the calipers and drums.

    Thanks! Been doing some modifications in the yard today and the original heat shield fits under the MC, I'll have to drill holes for the lines to feed down and still have enough room to mount the PV next to it on the shield. Have to drill another hole in the bottom of the shield for the front brake line. The rear brake line should be no problem since the PV is mounted with the rear brake outlet facing forward. Now need to bend some lines from the bottom of the MC/shield to the top of the PV and that should work.

    My MC has remote reservoir so they are mounted on the inner fender well (too much on firewall), up higher than the calipers, that's what's cool about this set up, you keep your originality of my Jeep with modern upgrades.
