    Its time to replace the springs on my cj5. I don't do any rock climbing
    or rough riding, so all I need is something "stock"..
    If anyone has do's or don'ts, please chime in.. {what to stay away from or what's good}
    Thanks

    If you don't mind a lift, I found the 2.5" Explorer Pro-Comps to work well and to be quite reasonable at ~$400 on sale at 4wdhardware.

    Good, cheap springs? Which way do you want it to lean next year? I think you will find little difference between cost of quality stock replacements and the lower lift end-say 2.5"- of lift springs. I don't think there is much difference between the quality of the major U.S. made suspension offerings-most are pretty good.

    I have BDS springs on my CJ-6, and am happy with them. They only come in a 2.5" lift, IIRC.

    If you want stock height, Crown does not sell springs for your model. Instead, you'll need to get Omix-Ada springs. http://www.omix-ada.com/jeep-parts/replacement/suspension/jeep-leaf-springs.html They are available from many different suppliers. Check around for best price and shipping - be sure to get shipping prices.

    Call some spring shops in your town, might get a good deal and no shipping

    I know it's a different beast, but some use YJ springs....

    My buddy's YJ runs 3 inch lift BDS springs.

    Three or four years old, and they still have full arch.

    With regard to Jeeps, the terms 'good' and 'cheap' generally don't go together.
    Several guys on here have recommended BDS, and they are good quality.
    Don't expect cheap however.
