been working on it for a little while now, i guess its time to finally start a build thread. wolnt be an overnight-er as funds limit me but hope to have it done by end of summer or this time next year. its a 66 and its gonna end up with a 4cyl f-head, locked rear, limited slip front, 33 inch km2's 2.5 inch lift, and i plan to paint it a bright red body with a light tan colored hard top and throw an m8000 winch on the front. here are some pics as it sits.

It is pretty solid, just needs a new tailgate, i have a good "JEEP" one but want to put a "Willys" one on it. the body will probably be getting bondo though for the rot spots, my welding skills arn't that great.

Update: I bought new motor mounts today, i said to hell with the throw-out bearing, the one i have feels pretty good. thought about painting the motor before i put it in but decided not too, i'll get to it this summer. motor has around 50,000 miles i believe, scheduled to go in saturday or sunday, might do an 11" brake conversion since i have all the parts but havn't decided yet. I'll be updating more as i make progress.

Well, i got the engine in today, finally, time to re-wire and plumb it up tomorrow. I got tired of just looking at it sitting out there so i said screw if when i got home from school and went out and worked on it and got it in.
It has two new motor mounts too. here are some pics since i know we all love them so.

I admire you for working on rocks. I can't or wouldn't do that unless I have to. :D

Its not fun, i have to jack up the jeep and lay plywood down and it hurts my back climbing around on them but you do what you have to do. there's no room in the garage to work on stuff so the driveway it is for me. the worst part is getting that engine lift to go over the seam of the pieces of plywood when its holding the engine up and nobody's around to help me muscle the thing around.

yeah, it came off the plywood and i tried to push it back on, long story short it fell with the engine on it and scared me, i was ok though, its in, bolted up, just gotta throw the clutch fork in an hook some wires up and see if it will move, i know the engine runs good, its got a rebuilt carb and new fuel pump

Keep up the good work Geoffrey, you'll have a runner before you know it! I know working on gravel is tough, it definitely makes it a lot less fun and slower to get things done.

    That it does!

Well i've been busy down at our shore house repairing washout from sandy, had to move 40 tons of concrete and 20 tons of dirt by hand... good workout, only took me and my brother 2 days. Now back to jeeps! I'm getting some LS units for the front and rear so hopefully even with the little f-head i should be able to crawl right through everything, just dont know how its gonna like 10.5x33's, 5.38 gears, and limited slip front and rear, i guess i'll find out, still need to get the clutch fork in, i gave up the other day and i'm debating pulling the engine again, seperating the bell, and installing it the right way but we'll see. I picked up some KH 15x8's a couple months back, forget to tack them to the list, i'm keeping this one period correct and as original as possible!

Some more goodies found for the build, i'm getting a vented windshield frame next weekend, found a guy in new york who has a couple of them reasonably cheap so i'm buying 2 or 3 of them. 1 to use, the others to hoard. Now i woln't have to take my top off when it hot out, just pop the glass and take the doors off. still didn't work on getting it running, i lost my patients with the clutch fork and walked away for a little while and been really busy with school, can wait till summer, 1 month left, i get out of school on the 20th, so my plans are to have this thing done and at least in primer by the end of this summer, gonna work everyday straight on this thing and rap it up, i wanna start working on my 3b really bad

    Edit: windshields fell thru

used a scissor jack and some rope to flex the engine mount to get it to line up, had to hold one end of the jack with my foot but it worked.

Havn't updated in a while. got the engine in all the way and some temp. wiring hooked up and been trying to get it to start but the year it sat seems to have messed with something and now it just keeps backfiring out the carb and wolnt start but i'm trying to figure it out. I found a set of like new (95% tread and only a year old) 33x12.5 r15 BFG KM2's. only $400 for the 4 of them, i think i really lucked out, just need to get the engine running and everything put on it and moving nice and brakes and i can start driving it around in february when i finally get my license (turning 17!!)
