After four and a half years finally got it out of the garage. Still far from finished, but it started, drove down the road, and stopped.

Just got this 1956 Cj5, it is number one of four Jeeps that were sent to the Crown Fire Coach company to have a water tank, pump hose and a ladder added to it so it could be a fast attack vehicle at the Firestone tire plant in South Gate California....

Pretty much stock other than the springs and tires. From the story I got it seems the jeep was pretty unmolested until the owner right before me. The guy chopped the fenders and some other stuff.

 

Here's mine....still in pieces but making progress. It's a '59 CJ5 with a SBF 302, T-98, dana 18 and dana 25/44 axles. This was a couple months ago but you get the idea.

 

Good lookin Jeep. Are those TSL's on the front and Boggers on the rear? Interesting concept.

 

Good to see a Jeep getting a Ford engine for a change.
