    Hi,

I registered for this forum in the hopes that some of you knowledgeable types could throw me a few facts. I thank each and any of you who do this (without rolling your eyes too much) in advance.

8322 - 10934, Kaiser Jeep Corporation, Toledo, Ohio. The tag on the door of the Jeep reads Body Made By Meyers Industry, Tecumseh Michigan. Model 6102 SN 74-170 (that is stamped on the cab and doors). This was a Jeep that my father bought several years ago. This Jeep is not in prime condition by any stretch of the imagination but I'd love to learn anything that anyone might know about it. I'm not even sure what the various numbers mean. I know that it was manufactured in 1964 but it might be considered a '65. I'd post pictures but I will have to figure out how to do that. Point of note: this Jeep has the removable hardtop. I need the brake master cylinder (I'm trying to get this fixed a little. It turns over and runs like a little champ.) 4-wheel drive lockouts. Computers make me chainsawguy

    Welcome to the forum!

Meyers manufactured tops (and doors) for Jeeps and that is what the tag is indicating. They did not manufacture the body itself. Your Jeep was manufactured in May of 1964 and therefore a 1964 model year Jeep.

Please see this article for further information on the Tux's: http://www.earlycj5.com/history/tuxedo-park-mark-iii-and-mark-iv-guide/

Glad to have another Tuxedo owner aboard. Tons of info here on ecj5. Try using the search function, also. And, of course, we'll glad to try to answer questions in the forums, as well.

I just bought a 1964 tuxedo park , 832210994, I purchased it at an estate sale ( it got the best of me). It is the nicest I've ever seen , 33k orig miles, it looks like a time capsule, as such, it needs to find that home better suited for it, instead at my rubicon style home, any suggestions , I would be grateful

Some of us have multi Jeep households, only 2 Jeeps here that I claim. Then there's the 'stored' '71 CJ6 my SIL doesn't know about.
I would keep it for a while, putter with as you see fit, it might grow on you.

Ok guys, with my limited computer skills and my wonky laptop, I posted some pics of my 1964 Tuxedo Park , in my album, I hope you can see it , and let me know what you think, I know it is missing the orig. wheels, I believe the seats have been recovered, the odometer reads 33k miles, and although owning it is a dream come true, I just dont believe I can do it justice, (i bought it on impulse).

    Um... wow nice Jeep.
At first glance the only thing you are missing is the correct rear plate lamp and holder set up

Mrwizard that is one beautiful Tux. Magnificent find. Not the correct outside rear-view mirror and can't see the inside one. The plate holder is not correct and of course the wheels. You didn't show the engine bay so no comment there. Looks totally unmolested from pic's. If you don't want to keep this jewel, there are guys that will be waiting there chance at it. If it were mine there would be no chance of getting it away from me. The Original parts to complete it show up on ebay from time to time but usually go for $$$.

jeep_tech the A in the vin appears in some models and not in others. I have not done enough research to know which years carried the "A".

This is the story on the tux, I bought it at an estate sale, through the lien process, it was purchased and kept for 29 yrs by the first owner , who sold to a guy that was 77 when he bought it, I believe that was when it was repainted and the top put on as its dated 1995, he sold in 2006 when he was 90, to a guy who bought it as an asset to hide from his soon divorcing wife, it had been stored since 2006, then the attorneys found it, I bought it to keep out of the hands of the rockcrawler crowd, even though I am one, I can't guarantee the mileage is correct, but as you can see, it probably is. The aircleaner has been changed to a big paper filter, this jeep lived on a large ranch most of its life.i live in Pollock Pines , Ca, I am 45 minutes from the Rubicon, and a member of the Rubicon Trail Patrol, I am up there every Friday during the season, there's just no time to devote to this jeep as it deserves , I'll put more pics in the album soon, but I pretty sure I'm going to let it go
