While tackling the pinion seal , I decided to replace the leaky oil pan gasket, I ordered a gasket from Walcks, I ve been told to use Super 300 to coat the gasket surfaces. Others say to use RTV. Whats the forum's consensuses?

Whatever you decide use sparingly as it can do more harm than good..I always use a very thin coating on both sides mainly to hold the gasket in place

Everyone has their favorite method. I like to glue the gasket to the pan (High-Tack), and then use a thin layer of RTV next to the block. If you use RTV on both sides, the gasket could squirt out of the joint.

Make sure the pan lip is straight. They tend to dish in around the bolt holes, when overtightened.
