I have spent the whole summer building and wiring my '68 :v6: , and have just titled and plated it. The only problem is that it is starting to cool down in Colorado. My excitement dictates that I drive the jeep, but the 10 degree mornings without top or doors, are sort of a rough start. I love the look of the hard top and have decided to go that route with a set of half doors. I would like to hear all the praise and all the rejections of hard-tops plus any other ideas/options. Also, I have just read another post talking about half cabs, any comments or sources for that as-well. If anyone knows where I could find a hard top, new or used- pretty or ugly, near Denver it would be greatly appriciated. I am hoping to suprise HQ (my soon to be wife) with a top for Christmas.

There's somebody that makes new fiberglass tops (expensive!), but no source for new steel tops. So, you have to find one on the used market. Fewer half cabs were sold than full cabs. The last "official" manufacturer of steel cabs was Meyer, which is still in business making steel tops and bodies, just not for Jeeps.

I had a full-cab on my CJ-6... thought it was top-heavy and really changed the balance of the Jeep. Half-cabs are cool looking, and maybe less top heavy, but would have little storage

Try the for sale sections. There is a hard top here in Ohio, I dont think i will be your way any time soon, but if you want, I can check how much my yard wants. If you want to pay for shipping, up to you.
