Well its been a while since . I have had the top on the jeep , new replacement windshield frame . old glass didn't fit in frame . new glass cut to fit . glass shop said original glass was too tall for replacement frame , I wondered if I was going to have a problem , putting top back on , well that is a problem , looks like C channel is hitting top on both sides and top stills need to drop down some more to redrill mounting holes . here is a picture of windshield frame and top . should I remove the C channel . once on will be repainted [IMG]

But I remember . that the original frame . did in fact follow the C channel when the top was on it . but it also been hanging in garage for 10 years . was out looking at it and also looked like I have to loosen windshield hinge brackets so windshield will lay back farther . then I will try and put the windshield side filler pieces on and go from there I guess . I just don't have any trust in fit and finish . of these aftermarket parts . had problems with fenders too

Mild thread-jack but what do you use to "seal" the seem where the top meets window frame along the edge just below the screw holes?

I have always sealed that with a plumbers putty - stays soft so you can take the top off again, but seals things good once it's clamped or bolted down. Tried the foam and rubber 'door' type seals, they didn't work as well.
