    Hello Everyone...

Im in the process of swapping my u joints on my front driveline for my 71 cj5. I got my u bolts off the front side with no issues but have hit a road block with trying to remove the u bolts on the T case side. its a 1/2 nut but i cant get a socket or a open end wrench on the nuts. does anyone have any tricks they can enlighten me on or know of a special tools needed to complete this job. I would think it would be pretty straight forward but then i realize its a Jeep. Thanks for the help

Use a box end wrench. You may have to grind the outside of the box end to fit.

A short 1/2" box end will fit. only get in like quarter turns.

you can also put transfer in neutral spin the shaft untill the wrench fits in and then engage the transfer to keep from spinning and repeat if necessary.

Usually a long screwdriver slipped through the yoke and u-joint is enough to keep it from spinning while you break loose the nuts. Saves on getting up and down repeatly to change the position of the yoke. Just leave it in nuetral.
