I need new fenders and they seem hard to come by, I was wondering will any of the older CJ-5's fenders work on mine? For example 55-71 or will only 69-71 fenders work?
    Thank You
    Mitchell

    55-71 will work. (I have ones off a '64 on my '70)
The difference is the newer ones have an indent for a side marker light.
72-up are longer and will not interchange.

Shortening the later fenders has been brought up here. I don't recall what the consensus was, but you should be able to do it if you are good with a welder. All the lengthening of a later fender is in the rear-most 5" - the front part is the same. Slice off the last 5", weld the bolt flange back on and go. All the later fenders will have the side marker light indent, which I belive should be present on a '70.

The cheapest I've been able to find the ones without the side marker indention was $409 each. My Jeep is a '63 CJ5, but I opted to go with the 68-71 fenders WITH the marker indention for the simple fact I could buy two fenders for the price of one....
