1974 Renegade - looking for NOS rear tail lights

Hi all,

I have a 1974 Renegade with 36,000 original miles. It is almost entirely original and unmolested except for a few minor components. My goal is to restore it back to 100% correct original. The one thing I can't seem to find is a pair of original tail lights. I am looking for NOS or a near perfect set of used rear tail lights. I need the entire assemblies...the canisters/lenses/mounting hardware. I believe one of the canisters had a clear lens to illuminate the license plate. I do not have the license plate mounting bracket as well and would need this also. I would greatly appreciate any help from the enthusiasts on this site. Perhaps someone has a set they are willing to sell or can point me in the correct direction. I am not looking for "close"...that's what I currently have.

Anyway, The lenses are available new. If you can find a set of buckets, your best bet would be to straighten them up and use them. It's unlikely you will find a set of perfect taillights because 1) nearly every other mid-60s to '75 jeep owner is also looking for them, 2) there's no source other than a wreck or parts vehicle, and 3) these lights are positioned such that they get smashed on rocks and such rather easily.

If you call J&W in Antelope CA or other large Jeep wrecking yards, they might have a set for you. but they will be expensive.

I saw a replacement set for sale someplace. Might have been one of the catologs I have.. I replaced my OEM tail lights with an LED version. My OEM lights were trashed..
