Just installed a new 2.5" BDS lift on my '72 and thought I'd show before and after pictures. Also put on new 1/2" Performance Accessories shackles. Jeep had a pre-existing 1" body lift and sits on 31x10.5's. I think it picked up a little more than just 2.5" from the springs as the old rear end was sagging pretty bad, but they will probably settle down a bit in the next months. Rides alot better though!

I was gonna paint them black but it kinda became a running joke with my friends. So instead I decided to make it worse by getting purple shock boots for the BDS kit! 8)

Nice looking Jeep. I too installed a -1/2" BDS lift on my 75 CJ 3 years ago.. I measued it and had 3" after.. It has since settled a bit down to 2-1/2". Last fall it started looking like I had a broken spring. Found out my spring shackles and bushings were totally trashed. I then installed a set of M.O.R.E. greasable shackles and my Jeep leveled back up.. It looks to me like you also have after market shackles..

Thanks! It definately grew on me and I like it alot now too.

Ya those are Performance Accessories 1/2" lift shackles. If I remember right they are 3.75" from bolt hole to bolt hole. How long did it take for your BDS lift to settle?
