I need a little help or confirmation. I forgot to take a pic before I pulled the carb off the engine in order to have a reference. Now that everything is installed again I can't remeber where exactly the spring that pulls the throttle linkage back into position after the accelerator has been pushed-in. Can someone take a pic of there's attached, I have tried to research some diagrams or pics and really haven't had much luck. There are plenty of pics of the card and that side of the carb, but none low enough or zoomed in close enough for me to see clearly where the spring is attached. Thanks guys.

This is a pic I found on the forum. hope it helps, that spring can go anywhere as long as it pulls the throttle back to idle position.

Thanks CJ Joe. Even though that is a Holley, I understand the logic, and I believe I have attached the spring to the correct location. My concern is there is a seperate mechanism that pivots at the same point as the throttle linkage arm that seems to be just flopping back and forth even though the spring is attaching to a hole location below the throttle cable linkage point. It has a set screw as part of the armature which seems to have a function of limiting some aspect of throttle tolerance (not sure about that logic). Can anyone that has a Motorcraft carb take a shot of how there throttle & spring(s) are attached, please. Thanks for the help guys.
I will try to get a pic of exactly what I'm referring to, I'm sure that will help greatly.

Here are some pics of the piece I'm talking about (the part my finger is touching/on):

I've attached the return spring to the bottom of the throttle plate as you can see in the photo; this is where is was before (I think this is correct). The piece my finger is touching just flops around, I can lift it up and then if I let go it will just drop back down toward the manifold and just lay there. Any thoughts?

The part with your finger on it is the mechanical kick-down for an automatic transmission. It just flops around on a manual transmission equipped car.

Thanks Tim...it's so nice to find out you're not going crazy. At least not this time :)
