Still haven’t gotten the engine back. Looking at this old thread and pics makes me sad.

Sometimes we have to wait... It happened to me... and sometimes it goes fast. Probably it is not a priority for you. But my CJ5 with Hurricane is working well now, a pleasure. It can be the same for you. Your countryside is very beautiful, nice for a Jeep. One day it will be good. Keep faith.

Its also missing the indents on each side of the tub for the soft top brackets. That would take a lot of work to reshape and fill.

    I too suspect replacement tub

The rebuilder is old and an old friend and a procrastinator. Took a couple years to do some Pontiac heads. I need to start calling him every week.

My kids are just about too grown to fit in the back now. :-(

That's a tough one. It would be nice if you could get it back and take it somewhere else without hard feelings. Or at least put a WTB in the classified for a runner to put in the Jeep in the meanwhile. They do show up now and then.

Starting here on one of my build threads is my process for doing the SmittyBilts. What? Another Jeep?. You'll find the passenger seat sits a decent amount higher than the driver seat. In my case, I cut down the factory frame that bolts to the body and made a new frame that bolts to the seat to get them to match.
